Affiliate disclosure

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Some links on NodeShelf are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy something or sign up for a service, we may receive a commission from the retailer or vendor. You pay exactly the same price either way — the commission comes out of the seller’s margin, not your pocket.

Affiliate links are marked in two ways:

  • Buttons labelled “Check price on Amazon”, “Visit site”, and similar calls to action.
  • Every affiliate link carries rel="sponsored nofollow" in the page source and opens in a new tab.

Links inside body text that point to manufacturer documentation, specification sheets, or pricing pages are not affiliate links. They are there so you can check our sources.

Programs we participate in

  • Amazon Associates Program (amazon.com). NodeShelf is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
  • Software and service affiliate programs, including programs run through Impact and PartnerStack. These typically pay a percentage of a subscription, sometimes recurring for as long as you remain a customer.

Because recurring software commissions are worth considerably more than one-off hardware commissions, it is fair to ask whether that biases us toward recommending software. Our answer is the comparison methodology: the criteria for each article are stated in the article, and hardware-only answers are given where hardware is the answer.

What commissions do not affect

  • Rankings and recommendations. Ordering follows the stated comparison criteria.
  • Which products are included. Products without any affiliate program are included where relevant.
  • What we say about a product. Weaknesses are described whether or not we earn from it.

We do not accept payment for placement, sponsored posts, or paid reviews.

About prices

Prices shown anywhere on this site may be out of date, and we do not display live Amazon prices. Always check the current price on the retailer’s own page before buying. Where we show a price band (such as $$) it is an approximate positioning, not a quote.
